Elecomms carried out a free site survey as usual and proposed installing a complete Ubiquiti Unifi PoE Wifi system and few additional hardwire Ethernet points for the the home office computers etc, for them to connect directly to the router via a network switch in the garage so they connect to the internet much faster and so improve the overall user experience with these devices, However the main focus of the works was to get the family much faster and more reliable WIFI throughout the whole house and garden. Elecomms recommended using Ubiquiti UniFi In-Wall Access Points in each of the rooms and an outside Mesh Unit for the garden which would easily cover the whole of the property and would solve all the clients terrible Wifi and data connectivity issues once and for all. The reason for putting an access point in each room was that being a modern home it had thick foam & foil backed insulation (Celotex) in all the walls of the house which gives great heat insulation but unfortunately doesn’t allow Wifi signals through it, so by installing an access point in each room we got over this issue with the added advantage of using the ubiquiti Unifi In-Wall units that have a single pass through Ethernet point built-in so also giving each room a hardwire Ethernet point if needed in the future.
The job was to install a complete new Wifi system into a modern minimalistic home, so the aesthetics of the overall work was very important to the clients. We installed a stand-alone data cabinet in the attached garage with all the Cat6 cables running from there to each of the ubiquiti Unifi In-Wall PoE access points as well as adding a few additional hardwire points in the home office & other locations, for computers, smart tv’s and the like. The job went very well and we completed on time and in budget with very happy clients.
